About Lymphatic Drainage with the Ballancer®Pro

Lymphatic drainage is a treatment that uses gentle pressure and relaxing motions to help your lymphatic system naturally eliminate excess fluid from your body. (1) Our treatment features the Ballancer®Pro, a groundbreaking pressotherapy system that can simultaneously work on each area of the body, including the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, upper body, arms, and back. The Ballancer®Pro offers four sequential treatment modes and is the only device to offer a pretreatment setting to open the lymphatic pathways before draining, making it one of the most advanced lymphatic drainage treatments available for recovery. (2)

Lymphatic drainage is ideal after undergoing a surgical procedure, as it can positively affect your body’s healing process. It can promote your body’s natural ability to eliminate its internal toxins, allowing you to reduce any post-treatment swelling, soften scar tissue, and enhance your overall results.

Benefits

There are several benefits you may experience after undergoing lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro. These might include:

  • Integrated Application: Your specialist can perform lymphatic drainage as part of a treatment regimen for a surgical procedure to enhance your overall recovery.
  • Enhanced Circulation: The Ballancer®Pro can improve the blood flow around several regions of your body, including your deeper musculoskeletal system, to promote faster healing.
  • Improved Comfort: This treatment can reduce discomfort that occurs post-surgery as the body heals.
  • Resolved Blockages: The Ballancer®Pro can help your lymphatic system naturally filter your body’s waste, reducing blockages.

Candidates

You may be a good candidate for lymphatic drainage if you are recovering from a surgical procedure and would like to enhance your recovery experience.

If you are interested in this treatment, you should be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding your results. Your specialist will determine your candidacy during your personal consultation.

Preparation

Once you have scheduled your lymphatic drainage treatment, there are certain preparations that you will need to make. To help, your specialist will provide you with a set of instructions, which may include:

  • Stay Hydrated: Ensure that you are drinking plenty of water leading up to your appointment, as good hydration is essential for your lymphatic system to work efficiently.
  • Eat Beforehand: Eat a light and easily digestible meal before your treatment.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Please refrain from consuming any alcohol in the days before and after your treatment, as it can dehydrate you and contribute to swelling or bloating.
  • Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, breathable clothing to your appointment to enhance your comfort.

While each of these instructions is fairly simple, following them can help deliver the best possible effects from your treatment.

Procedure

When you arrive for your appointment, a member of our team will lead you to a private treatment room where you will meet your specialist. Here, they will reconfirm your treatment plan before cleansing your skin. They will then provide you with a suit that you will need to wear throughout the appointment.

Once the treatment begins, the specialized suit will begin gently placing pressure across each region of the body simultaneously. It features 24 chambers that slowly inflate and deflate throughout the treatment to reduce any retained fluids, stimulate better circulation, relieve muscular concerns, and more.

These movements will continue for 20-60 minutes, depending on the length of your treatment. Once it is over, your specialist will help you remove the suit before you leave.

Results

After undergoing lymphatic drainage with the Ballancer®Pro, you will be able to notice improvements in your recovery. You may see decreased swelling, discomfort, enhanced circulation, and more. Recovery will be quicker overall.

Most patients see their best recovery outcomes after a series of 5 to 10 treatment sessions, once a week.

FAQ

What is the Ballancer®Pro?

The Ballancer®Pro system is a cutting-edge compression therapy system that provides gentle pressure to various regions of the body to reduce excess swelling.

How long will it take for my specialist to perform my treatment?

The duration of your treatment will vary depending on your specific needs, but you can expect it to range between 20 and 60 minutes.

Will my lymphatic drainage treatment hurt?

No. Most of our former patients report the Ballancer®Pro to be very comfortable with gentle waves of pressure.

How soon can I undergo lymphatic drainage after receiving a surgical procedure?

This duration will vary depending on the extent of your procedure and the rate at which your body heals itself. Most patients undergo lymphatic drainage once their surgeon has removed any drains or stitches, but we recommend consulting your surgeon or specialist for a more definite answer.

What is the difference between the Ballancer®Pro and manual lymphatic drainage?

The Ballancer®Pro is a high-tech manual lymphatic drainage treatment that uses a specialized suit fitted with chambers to gently massage the body. Contrarily, while the Ballancer®Pro offers similar results to manual lymphatic drainage, both treatments use different techniques, strokes, and approaches.

Are there any side effects of lymphatic drainage?

You may experience some temporary redness or soreness in the treated areas. However, these effects will subside shortly after your treatment, and do not typically require much management.

How will I know if lymphatic drainage is right for me?

Most patients can benefit from integrating lymphatic drainage into their aftercare routine, but the best way to quell any doubts is by discussing this treatment with your surgeon when planning your surgical procedure.
