VASER & Emsculpt: A Winning Combination for Perfect Abs

VASER Liposuction and EMSCULPT are two body contouring procedures that, when combined, promote a stronger, better-contoured abdominal profile. In the pursuit of our dream physique, a well-defined six-pack stands at the top of everyone’s goals. However, because of age, genetics, or a busy schedule, obtaining this aesthetic trophy is more difficult than people realize – oftentimes being the last goal conquered. That’s because even with a perfect diet and a consistent workout routine, many of our patients don’t see any desired improvements around their abdomens. Coming to the end of a weight loss journey or a lifestyle change, many of our patients feel a mixture of emotions. They’ve hit their target weight, finally feeling and looking healthy. They’ve crossed off each aesthetic goal on their list. But, when they look at themselves in the mirror, the lingering fat around their abdomen doesn’t reflect all their hard work. It veils their abdominal muscles with a blanket of hard-to-lose fatty tissue. Unfortunately, the coveted six-pack has eluded them. However, by pairing VASER Liposuction and EMSCULPT, Dr. John A. Millard has given thousands of patients worldwide the tools to achieve even their most difficult aesthetic goal.

If you would like to see how this combination can provide the best results possible, schedule a personal consultation at our Englewood offices. Here, Dr. Millard and his team will explain the necessary steps to achieving your desired six-pack. To reach us directly, please call (303) 792-5665.

The Winning Combo

With all the body contouring procedures in the aesthetics industry, it might be difficult to know which ones are right for you. At Millard Plastic Surgery, we are proud to offer only the best, most advanced body contouring procedures available. From non-invasive services to surgical procedures, we are equipped with the tools, skills, and technologies to achieve your desired physique. By creating a comprehensive treatment plan with multiple procedures, we offer even more enhanced results. So is the case with VASER + EMSCULPT

VASER Liposuction

VASER Liposuction targets the subcutaneous layer of fat that rests just between our skin and muscles. This fat acts as a coat of protection for our body’s internal structures and helps regulate heat loss. Because this fat is used differently than other types of fat, the body is reluctant to shed it. So, subcutaneous fat lingers on our physique well after reaching and maintaining your healthy weight and body fat percentage. To address this stubborn layer of fat, VASER Liposuction was introduced. Standing for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance, VASER Liposuction uses ultrasound technology to selectively detach fat cells from their connective tissues, allowing no damage to surrounding tissue.[1] VASER involves a thin aspirating cannula that generates ultrasonic waves to release these fat cells. Next, the cannula extracts these fat cells from the body. The VASER cannula is so thin it can trace the lines between each abdominal muscle, allowing Dr. Millard to carefully debut each muscle in your six-pack.

EMSCULPT

While a majority of the aesthetics industry has focused exclusively on fat loss, EMSCULPT is concerned with strengthening muscles. EMSCULPT uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to contract muscles over 20,000 times in one thirty-minute session. Contracting a muscle 20,000 times at the gym is almost impossible, even for a professional athlete! This non-invasive device is placed on the treatment area and uses energy wavelengths to gently contract the abdomen’s muscle fibers to create microtears in the tissue. The body then sends restorative properties to aid in repairing the torn fibers to ensure they will be strong enough to handle the pressure of the same workload next time. The body also burns neighboring fat to keep the muscles energized during their rebuilding. In studies, HIFEM technology reduced fat tissue by 19% and thickened abdominal muscle fibers by 15%.[2]

Step One: Schedule a Consultation

The first step in this combination for perfect abs is to schedule a consultation at our Englewood offices. Here, we will ask you to fill out a brief new patient intake form and we will conduct a physical examination. Our goal is to learn about you as an individual: where you are on your fitness journey,  if you are at a healthy, stable weight, and what your desired results look like. We will then explain how VASER and EMSCULPT work together to better define your abs.

Eligible Candidates

For those interested in the combined benefits of VASER and EMSCULPT, we do have a list of eligibility requirements.

  • We ask that you be at a healthy, stable weight. Neither of these are a weight loss procedure and are only approved for patients with a normal BMI score.
  • We will not be able to treat you if you are pregnant. Also, we ask mothers to consider undergoing these procedures at the end of their family-building journey as subsequent pregnancies can diminish results.
  • If you are a smoker, we ask that you avoid nicotine for a couple of days before your VASER procedure and the entire recovery period.

Step Two: Prepare for VASER Liposuction

VASER Liposuction is a surgical procedure so you need to take general surgery precautions when preparing.

  • We ask you to discontinue any blood-thinning medications as these can cause excessive bleeding during your surgery.
  • Pre-fill all prescriptions before the day of your procedure. After your VASER Liposuction, you will still be recovering from anesthesia and will need to have your medication available.
  • Designate a caregiver to drive you home.

Step Three: VASER Liposuction Procedure

We will begin your VASER Liposuction procedure by administering anesthesia and making sure you’re relaxed and comfortable. Then, Dr. Millard will make an incision only a few millimeters wide. He will treat the fatty tissue with direct ultrasonic waves that disrupt the fat cells. Dr. Millard will trace the aspirating cannula around each muscle so the skin rests directly on the muscle, causing the area to look more defined and muscular.

Step Four: Recovery From VASER

After your VASER procedure, you will need to take the next couple of days off. Your abdomen might feel a little tender. Take only the prescribed medication for pain management. Since the fat cells were physically removed you will notice your six-pack immediately after the surgery. Because the VASER ultrasonic waves dislodged the fat cells, the surrounding tissue won’t be as bruised or swollen as traditional liposuction. After you’ve fully healed, you will be able to begin your EMSCULPT sessions.

Step Five: EMSCULPT Procedure

When you come to our offices for an EMSCULPT session, we will have you lie down on your back and rest comfortably. Then, we will take the EMSCULPT device and attach it to your abdomen. The EMSCULPT device has a knob to regulate the intensity and duration of contractions. If you are feeling any discomfort, feel free to change the settings to a more comfortable speed. You will be able to scroll on your phone or read as the HIFEM technology stimulates contractions in your muscles. With repeated sessions a few weeks apart, you will begin to see stronger, more robust abdominal muscles.

Step Six: EMSCULPT Results

Oftentimes, patients compare the feeling after an EMSCULPT to that of “the burn” people feel after an intense workout. Because EMSCULPT is non-invasive, you won’t have to worry about long recovery times. After your EMSCULPT session, you will be able to jump right back into your daily routine. Typically, patients will see optimal results after their third or fourth session.

Step Seven: Enjoying Your New Abs

After your final EMSCULPT session, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of this wonderful treatment combination. Your abs will look defined, chiseled, and contoured. Since the fat cells in this were removed, you can expect to see a sculpted six-pack for the next couple of years. Be sure to continue to live a healthy, active life as future weight gain will lessen results.
